Opening May 2017
UF Health North will soon be North Jacksonville’s No. 1 choice for high-quality care. Here UF Health’s renowned specialists will practice with advanced medical technology and the latest treatments available. Opening in May, the area’s only full-service hospital will create a healing environment for patients while fulfilling the health needs of residents across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
Patient suites will be spacious and entirely private. Each room will be equipped with the SONIFI patient engagement system with interactive TV and tablet. This will allow for easy meal ordering, opening and closing window blinds, accessing movies and controlling the thermostat. On most patient floors, each waiting lounge will be connected to a balcony so visitors can get fresh air. Local artists’ work will decorate the building and feature images of Florida’s landscape, plants and wildlife, bringing the outside environment indoors.
Studies associate green spaces with increases in energy and positive emotions, so UF Health North will feature rooftop gardens and courtyards for visitors and patients to gather. The cafeteria will offer indoor and outdoor seating, with the gift shop nearby for picking up a special, get-well-soon bouquet. The chapel will look out onto a water feature to provide guests a calming retreat. The hospital will even have four large conference rooms available for the public to hold meetings or events.
Adjacent to the hospital is the UF Health North medical office building, which is home to more than 20 specialty services and a 24/7 full service adult and pediatric emergency room.
Our campus is located next to River City Marketplace, so numerous restaurants and stores are available to visitors. UF Health North’s 70-acre campus provides space for future expansion to meet the health care needs of the rapidly growing North Jacksonville community.
