Billing

Hospitalization coverage is a contract between the patient and the patient's insurance company. UF Health North accepts most insurance plans and will make every effort to expedite a claim. If you have acceptable hospitalization insurance at the time of your admission, a cash deposit will not be necessary. You may, however, be asked to pay a deductible or co-payment, depending upon your insurance plan.

If your insurance is not sufficient, you may be asked to make a deposit before you are admitted. The amount of the deposit will depend upon your diagnosis and expected length of stay. Charges for any and all services are payable with cash, check or credit card. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.

Services may be provided in the hospital by the facility as well as by other health care practitioners who may separately bill the patient. Health care practitioners who provide services in the hospital may or may not participate with the same health insurers or health maintenance organizations as the hospital. Prospective patients should contact the health care practitioner who will provide services in the hospital to determine which health insurers and health maintenance organizations the practitioner participates in as a network provider or preferred provider.

If you are uninsured or receiving services not covered by your insurance, you may qualify for financial assistance.
