Support Groups and Classes

The North Florida Acoustic Neuroma Association (ANA) Support Group meets quarterly at UF Health North, 15255 Max Leggett Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Learn more about the latest treatment options, network with other acoustic neuroma patients and find encouragement and support during the meetings. The Amelia Island Chapter of the United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA) Support Group meets monthly at UF Health North, 15255 Max Leggett Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The Breast Cancer Support Group is for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Connect with others who understand the challenges by joining the group. Our team will lead discussions and activities to enhance overall wellness, as well as provide a safe place to ask questions and share concerns. The group meets the second Thursday of each month from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at UF Health North, first floor classroom. Mommy Mingle is a free breastfeeding and postpartum monthly support group for new moms to learn more about the changes and challenges that can occur after childbirth. The group allows moms to connect with each other in a safe, supportive space and share ideas for adjusting to the "new normal" that arrives alongside motherhood. Babies from 2 weeks to 1 year are welcome to attend with their moms. This group meets every second Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the patient tower first floor conference rooms at UF Health North.

Breastfeeding 101 Virtual Class at UF Health North offers a monthly prenatal breastfeeding class for expectant mothers and their support person. Studies show receiving education prior to birth increases success at meeting person breastfeeding goals. The two-hour virtual class are facilitated by an international board-certified lactation consultant, or IBCLC. Join us the second Tuesday of every month from 6–8 p.m. All classes will be held virtually via Zoom. Scan the QR code to register.
